When the housing market was crazy, I decided to become a mortgage broker.  And for a couple of years it paid well.  But with the economic meltdown and the housing market slide the past year, I wasn’t making enough to justify staying in the industry.

I may live in Vegas, but my money management skills come from Nebraska, where I was raised.  My parents taught me you only borrow money when you absolutely have to.  Well, this is one of those situations where I did exactly that.
